Rome 2010: Live and Study in the "The Eternal City"
Rome is a city of layers, both physically and historically. As you
stroll through the centre of this important world capital, the
structures of ancient Rome, Renaissance and Baroque Rome, and modern
Rome are intermixed, as each period in the history has had profound
influences on those, which followed.
UNB Intersession in Rome 2010 will provide participants with the
opportunity to appreciate, study, and explore those layers as they live
as the Romans do and are taught in the city as their classroom—in its
museums, churches, archaeological sites, and streets.
In the first session participants will make a three-day trip to
Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. In the second session they
will make a three-day trip to the Bay of Naples to visit the sites and
museums in that region, including Pompeii.
